Today John reported on BBC Business Live about the Air France announcement that almost 3,000 job cuts will be made. The announcement follows the rejection by the Air France pilots of a deal that would have added 100 hours to their flying time annually. John reports that this is essentially equivalent to one additional day a month and that the costs cuts are necessary. The main issue being how long ‘everyone is going to dig in’ before an agreement is eventually reached.
